How can one break through the Pinterest overload and find a happy balance between being overwhelmed and standard wedding ideas?
Here are some suggestions!
- Go to Pinterest with a goal -- for example, it's easier to narrow down flowers for a church ceremony by searching specific words such as <<wedding ceremony church flowers, red>> vs. <<church flowers>>. Don't break it down too far that you don't find anything creative except for what you already know, but be sure to have a plan.
- Stay Organized -- make an account & then make boards for specific aspects of the wedding so when you go to meet with vendors, you can easily share your ideas and what you've found. Giant wedding boards with all aspects of the event lumped together wind up becoming too hard to sort through especially if you're meeting with vendors or plan to share the ideas with friends or family. "Wait, let me find it on Pinterest," becomes a couple minutes of scrolling vs. a quick reference for a meeting.
- Look to the pros in your area -- planning a wedding involves many different vendors and places. Ask your vendors if they have Pinterest boards (We Do!) and follow them for targeted ideas using people who have experience and to get ideas based on a company or theme you already have selected.
